Reduce Energy Costs with an On-Farm Energy Site Assessment
NRCS
in Maryland is providing conservation technical assistance to farmers to help
them conserve natural resources by realizing energy savings in their farm
operations. Farmers are encouraged to participate in On-Farm Energy Site
Assessment which
will help them gain a better understanding of their on-farm energy use and
identify ways that they can make changes to reduce energy usage. These
strategies can also save farmers time and money while helping to reduce the
adverse environmental impact of high energy use.
The Maryland Farm Energy Site Assessment Program is a collaborative cost share
assistance program funded by NRCS and the Maryland Energy Administration. The
assessments identify on-farm energy usage and make recommendations for increased
energy efficiency.
Other program partners are EnSave, Maryland Agricultural and Resource Based
Industry and Development Corporation (MARBIDCO), Maryland Department of
Agriculture (MDA), Maryland Eastern Shore Resource Conservation and Development
(RC&D) Council, Western Maryland Resource Conservation and Development
(RC&D) Council, Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) and
Washington County Soil Conservation District.
