Purpose. To provide the FY09 GRP Geographic Area Rate Caps

Expiration Date. September 30, 2009.

Explanation. 

Maryland’s Grasslands Reserve Program (GRP) Geographic Area Rate Caps (GARC) are approved and may be used to purchase permanent GRP easements thru September 30, 2009. The GARC establishes the maximum amount NRCS will pay for an easement on properties eligible for GRP.

The attached chart listing the GARC for each county will be posted on the Maryland NRCS web page.

Maryland has a limited amount of GRP funding available, therefore the final day for receiving applications at the local Farm Service Agency office is July 15.
