MD.360.9.8, PER - Employee Access to Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF)

Maryland Bulletin: 360-9-7
Subject: PER - Employee Access to Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF)
Date: July 15, 2009

Purpose. To announce employee access to the Electronic Personnel Folder (eOPF) and provide instructions to employees for viewing the eOPF.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2009.

Background. The Office of Personnel Management is implementing several systems across the Government that are intended to improve the management of human capital. One of these systems is the eOPF which replaces the paper-based Official Personnel Folder (OPF). The eOPF is an electronic folder containing employee personnel records.

Explanation.

Benefits provided to the employees by using eOPF will include the following:

  • All NRCS employees will have access to their individual eOPF to view and/or print copies of personnel actions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • The eOPF allows every employee’s documentation to be backed up and securely stored at a remote site and can be restored if a disaster occurs. Access will be restricted to the employee and designated personnel in the local servicing Human Resources Office.
  • The National Finance Center will electronically transmit the data to employee’s eOPF and employees will be able to go online to review, and if desired, print a copy of the document. No more hard copies will be mailed to you.

Instructions for accessing eOPF:
