Subject: LNU - Farmland Protection Policy Act (FPPA) Annual Progress Report
Date: October 20, 2008

Purpose. To request FPPA information for annual report.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2009.

Action Required By: November 5, 2008

Explanation.

The Food Security Act of 1985 amended the FPPA to require the Department of Agriculture to report the following to Congress:

  1. The effects of Federal programs, authorities, and administrative activities with respect to the protection of farmland; and
  2. The results of reviews of existing policies and procedures by Federal agencies to determine if provisions of the programs prevent the Federal Government from taking appropriate action to comply fully with FPPA.

Please submit AD-1006's completed in FY08 to Mark Rose, Assistant State Conservationist for Programs, by Wednesday, November 5, 2008. If you have not completed any reviews, please send a negative report via email.
