Purpose. To inform employees of upcoming conference.

Explanation.

The National Organization of Professional Black Natural Resources Conservation Service Employees (NOPBNRCSE) will host it's 16th Annual Training Conference from December 8-12, 2008, in Atlanta, GA. This year's theme is "Conservation as a Public Policy: One Purpose, One Passion - Sustaining Our Natural Resources".

I encourage all employees to take advantage of career development and professional enhancement opportunities through training at this conference subject to the availability of resources, agency funds and work priorities. Conference information can be obtained from the NOPBNRCSE web page at www.nopbnrcse.org.

Justification to attend this meeting at government time and expense may be:

  • Training (providing or fulfilling a training need)
  • Receiving an award, citation, or commendation
  • Receiving a scholarship
  • Presenting a topical paper or poster
  • Member of Chief's staff
  • Special Emphasis Program Manager

Requests for attendance approval should be sent through the regular supervisory channels and then sent to the State Office for the Second line supervisor's concurrence. Second line supervisor will forward to Laurie Blasky, no later than October 14, 2008 and she will compile all requests for my final approval.
