Subject: PDM - Promotion of Maryland RC&Ds during National RC&D Week and Mid-Atlantic RC&D Meeting

Purpose. Tp provide information and guidance for promotion of National RC&D Week and the Mid-Atlantic RC&D Display

Expiration Date. September 30, 2008.

Explanation. 

National RC&D week is September 21-27, 2008. The National Association of RC&D Councils (NARC&DC) has provided promotional information and guidance to each RC&D Council. A copy of this is attached to this bulletin.

The Mid-Atlantic RC&D Meeting will be held in Clinton, NJ September 21-24, 2008. Maryland NRCS will be assisting with up to $1,500 in meeting costs associated with the event. A display booth will be available for a NRCS RC&D display.

I would like to recommend Councils identify at least two recent project success stories to be highlighted during the National RC&D week and/or the Mid-Atlantic RC&D meeting. These projects should be unique to the RC&D and recently completed or near completion.

The Maryland State NRCS Office can provide assistance to the RC&D Councils wanting to prepare displays or fact sheets. If your Council would like to request this assistance, please contact Carol Hollingsworth, Maryland Public Affairs Specialist, no later than July 1 to discuss ideas.
