Subject: LNU - Farmland Protection Policy Act (FPPA) Annual Progress Report

Action Required By: November 2, 2007

Purpose. To request FPPA information for the annual report.

Expiration Date. February 1, 2008.

Explanation.  The Food Security Act of 1985 amended the FPPA to require the Department of Agriculture to report to Congress the following:

  1. the effects of Federal programs, authorities and administration activities with respect to protection of farmland;
  2. the results of reviews of existing policies and procedures by Federal agencies to determine if provisions of the programs prevent the Federal Government from taking appropriate action to comply fully with FPPA.

Please submit to the Assistant State Conservationist for Programs, no later than November 2, 2007, completed copies of any AD-1006s you have completed in FY07 for your county. If you have not completed any reviews, please send a negative response in an email.
