Subject: LTP - Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 UPDATED Timeline for Implementation of Conservation Security Program (CSP) 08-01 Signup in Maryland
Date: May 9, 2008

Purpose. To provide information to field office employees on the updated timeline for implementing the CSP 08-01 signup, conducting quality assurance, and making FY2008 contract payments. Only Sign-up and Interview end dates have been changed. All other dates remain the same.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2008.

Explanation. 

Maryland NRCS staff will carry out CSP 08-01 activities in accordance with the following timeline:

March 19, 2008 USDA announces CSP sign-up dates
April 1 - 11, 2008 MD CSP 08 Team Training in Baltimore County (specific date TBD)
April 15 - 17, 2008 Public Meetings
4/15 Carroll & Howard
4/16 Baltimore & Anne Arundel
4/17 Harford
April 18 - May 30, 2008 Sign-up
April 18 - May 16, 2008 Producer Workshops conducted by Field Office (optional)
June 11, 2008 Interviews Complete;
Substantiate Ag Operations Delineation
June 25, 2008 ProTracts Contract Data Entry Complete
June 30 - July 3, 2008 Secretary selects contracts for funding; Applications automatically approved in ProTracts
July 7 - 11, 2008 Send Notification Letters to Applicants
July 7 - 23, 2008 Review Contracts with Applicants;
Promote Application to Contract in ProTracts
July 7 - August 13, 2008 Conduct Self Assessment Verification;
Annual Contract Reviews
August 15 - September 5, 2008 Certify and Approve Payments
September 15 - November 14, 2008 Conduct Quality Review (State Office only)
