Subject: FNM - Training Conference of the American Indian/Alaska Native Employees Association (AIANEA) and the Asian Pacific Organization (APIO)

Purpose. To inform employees of upcoming conference.

Expiration Date. August 15, 2008.

Explanation. 

The Asian Pacific Islander Organization (APIO) and the American Indian/Alaska Native Employees Association (AIANEA) will hold a joint training conference in Spokane, Washington on August 11-15, 2008.

NRCS encourages its employees to take advantage of attendance and participation by employees in career-related professional organization that enhance career development and professionalism. The training will focus on the importance of job skills, personal development and career enhancement. The agenda also includes NRCS programs and success stories. The first day is dedicated to the training needs of Special Emphasis Program Managers (SEPM).

Justification to attend this meeting may be:

  • Training (providing or fulfilling a training need)
  • Receiving an award, citation, or commendation
  • Receiving a scholarship
  • Presenting a topical paper or poster
  • Member of Chief's staff
  • Special Emphasis Program Manager

Requests for attendance should be sent through the regular supervisory channels and then sent to the State Office for second line supervisor's concurrence (FNM-035). Second line supervisor will forward to Laurie Blasky, no later than June 19, 2008 and she will compile all requests for my final approval.
