Subject: FNM - Meeting Attendance
Date: March 13, 2008

Purpose. To announce the 2008 Spring Tour - Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) - Maryland Old Line Chapter.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2008.

Explanation.  The SWCS - Maryland Old Line Chapter is  having a 2008 Spring Tour. The tour will showcase ongoing research and demonstration projects to reduce nutrient loading from agricultural production systems on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Projects include the evaluation of cover crops utilizing remote sensing techniques, effective use of drainage ditch management and heavy use areas at the entrance of poultry houses. In addition, water quality monitoring and the movement of nutrients in groundwater will also be discussed.

Requests for meeting attendance approval should be sent through regular supervisory channels.

Maryland NRCS employees who are Certified Nutrient Management Consultants can earn 6 hours of Continuing Education Credit. Registration for those employees will be paid by NRCS. Please send the registration form to Laurie Blasky no later than close of business on March 19, 2008.

All other Maryland NRCS employees may be authorized to attend on official time and with use of a government vehicle. The registration fee will be at your own expense, and registration forms should be sent directly to SWCS.
