MD.210.8.2, ENG - Sprinkler Irrigation

Maryland Bulletin: 210-8-2
Subject: ENG - Sprinkler Irrigation
Date: May 2, 2008

Purpose. To clarify the requirements needed for approval and claim for payment for Sprinkler Irrigation Systems.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2008.

Explanation.

Since the review and approval of sprinkler irrigation systems in Maryland is fairly new, questions have arisen with respect to what exactly is needed for approval.

All sprinkler irrigation systems must comply with the following:

  1. Have a Sprinkler Irrigation Package signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer or a Certified Irrigation Designer
  2. The package must include a CPED (Center Pivot and Evaluation Design) chart.
  3. Meet all the requirements of Maryland Code 442, Irrigation System, Sprinkler, which includes an approved Irrigation Water Management (IWM) plan.

Once all of the above items have been completed, the practice can be approved.
